The libraries in Hampshire are a social network of public, free, open spaces that provide not only the rental of books but a vast array of services including free access to the internet, printers and other aids to contact any agency you may require. The staff is helpful and resourceful, and can be of great help to find your way around the community
One of the best resources of the library is free internet (normally with a code you ask at the counter) and free use of a computer+printer. This can help you if you still havent got one at home to do your paperwork, getting your utility bills in place, researching for a school for your children, etc..
In many of them you will also have access to many extra courses, watch out for the notice board. There is often music, dancing, and other activities programmed that will help you enjoy your time and make new friends in the community. They also have special activities for children, that change periodically, like hunt trails and book challenges
Because of the way Hampshire is managed, there is a separate library card for Southampton, Portsmouth and the rest of Hampshire wich is provided by Hampshire County Council
You can become a member by accessing the websites, or going in person to one of the libraries and getting help on the counter
